Parliamentary activity
Meetings and engagements
We currently have one meeting in the diary for October:

25th October:

Emma Harding, Labour, member of the Education Select Committee.

We have sent updated meeting requests to a range of MPs and will be following these up once Parliament returns from the conference recess on 9th October. We will also be approaching MPs who have previously been supportive to secure a sponsor for the drop-in event we are planning later in the autumn.

We also sent a briefing to 32 MSPs, outlining the importance of school and nursery milk, and requesting their assistance in encouraging the Scottish Government to support a post-Brexit school milk scheme

Parliamentary written questions

Shadow Farming Minister Mary Glindon tabled two written questions in the two weeks Parliament sat in September:

One asking what assessment the Department for Education has made of levels of support among parents for, and the potential health benefits to young children of, extending the school nursery milk scheme to include all children in reception classes regardless of age.

One asking whether the DfE would make an assessment of the recommendations in Tetra Pak's Making more of milk report to improve access to and uptake of milk in primary schools.
