Parliamentary engagement

We have listed all of our parliamentary supporters on the SNMA website to demonstrate the extent of our support in Westminster. These Parliamentarians have signed up to be members and now get our monthly updates on activity in the policy space. These are just some of the members we call upon to help us show ministers the importance of school and nursery milk, and span across political parties and both Houses of Parliament.

We are in the process of organising a meeting between our spokesperson Dr Hilary Jones and Sir David Amess, the Conservative MP for Southend West. This meeting will help us engage more with Conservative parliamentarians and raise the importance of school and nursery milk to members of the governing party. In particular, we will inform Sir David of our campaign to ensure a domestic replacement to the EU school milk scheme is implemented to ensure that children continue to enjoy subsidised milk; and our campaign to expand the eligibility of the Nursery Milk Scheme to all children in reception class children, thereby fixing the problem with the current provision which only entitles children up to the age of five to free milk.
